Nestled in Medan Damansara, Not A Club occupies a striking industrial space with just 35 tables, where expansive LED screens pulse with energy, atmospheric lighting adapts to the mood, and every detail exudes sophistication. Daren Yoon has been a key architect of Kuala Lumpur’s nightlife scene for over a decade, helming successful venues such as The Vault KL (now celebrating its 10th anniversary), Mamba, and renowned F&B concepts including Gekkō and Gold Standard Pho.
“My ventures have largely grown along with my own tastes and preferences. My younger self was all about volume. More people, more drinks, many nights out each week. Now, I’m extremely busy and don’t have the opportunity to meet my friends like I used to. When I can gather people who are important to me, I want to be in a unique and intimate environment,” Yoon explains.
“Given how limited these occasions are, I also want these moments to be special. Not A Club is exactly the place I want to be. It’s for the people who, like me, seek experiences that can’t be replicated anywhere else,” Yoon adds.
True to Yoon’s philosophy of crafting complete experiences, Not A Club includes a food hall offering premium skewers paired with a selection of high-quality broths. A rotating “flavour of the week,” featuring Gold Standard Pho’s signature recipes, provides a sophisticated take on late-night cravings for discerning palates.
As with all of Yoon’s venues, exceptional music is central.
