The Cross-Genre Music Event Saw A Full House Turnout At Sunway Lagoon
Once again, Heineken® has fulfilled its commitment to delivering refreshing experiences, enchanting nearly 18,000 participants at the recent Heineken® Refresh cross-genre music event at Sunway Lagoon Surf Beach.
The second edition of Heineken® Refresh attracted enthusiastic fans keen on revolutionizing the music-sharing experience, motivating them to step out of their musical comfort zones and embrace new sounds. Breaking conventional norms of live music gatherings, Heineken® Refresh showcased innovative elements that amazed and pleased the attendees.

Heineken® brought the renowned DJ Alok from Brazil to headline the event, marking his debut performance in Malaysia. Alok, famous for his genre-defying Brazilian Bass production style, delivered an hour-long set showcasing a fusion of genres, from top R&B and Hip Hop tracks to chart-topping EDM hits. There was never a dull moment during his performance.

The Heineken® Refresh event also showcased regional stars WUKONG, known for his Oriental Rave style, and Malaysia's own Blink, a celebrated artist known for his dynamic evolution in music.
WUKONG ignited the audience with an exhilarating electronic bass performance infused with Chinese elements. Blink brought his innovative touch to the stage with a remarkable collaborative show featuring a 20-piece orchestra presenting popular EDM tracks, and surprising the crowd with special appearances by Glenn Yong and Victoria. Co-created by Blink and Heineken®, the event delivered a remarkable fusion of EDM beats and symphonic arrangements that left the spectators amazed.

Demonstrating Heineken®'s innovative spirit, the event introduced an interactive live voting feature named the Heineken® Music Takeover, showcased during Mr. Yang B2B Ashley Lau and MJ's performances. Through the integration of LED wristbands with technology, attendees synchronized and changed colors in response to signals, enabling the audience to collectively influence the genre selections in real-time. This dynamic interaction effectively bridged the gap between artists and spectators.
Heineken® Refresh is a part of Heineken®'s global cross-genre music campaign, 'Refresh Your Music, Refresh Your Nights.' Earlier this year, the campaign launched Heineken® Fresh List, an innovative digital initiative in collaboration with Spotify that aimed to break down musical boundaries. The initiative encouraged listeners to explore new music genres beyond their usual preferences. This was followed by a series of activations in various outlets, leading up to the grand finale event.
